Tuesday Bible Study / Fellowship at St. Andrew’s Cathedral Aberdeen
Venue: John Skinner center (Just behind the main Church building)
Time: 6.00 – 7.15 pm every Tuesday; Restarted (after Christmas /NY break) on 26 January (2016).
The Tuesday Bible study group has been in existence since 2008. Through interaction with God’s word and one another, it is our hope that the lives of your Bible study members will be profoundly changed. The purpose of a Bible study is not to simply gain information or to be a part of a Bible study club, but to allow the Lord to transform our lives. Our activities include:
- Prayer Meeting (We aim to do this once every month):
In this session members are encouraged to pray for one another’s physical and spiritual needs.
- Bible Study: (This activity occurs when there are no Holidays or prayer meetings):
In this session participants are encouraged to contribute to each other’s understanding of the Bible. Specifically, we hope that participants, through Scripture, are drawn more intimately to our Lord through these studies. The leader encourages people with various backgrounds and personalities to form authentic relationships with one another.
Every member is encouraged to lead a study, at some point, as we know that often the greatest benefit comes to the leader who prepares a particular study and then shares it with the rest of the group. We also invite guest speakers, including priests from other churches etc.
- Visits: We have once visited a Monastery; Pluscarden Abbey home of a community of Benedictine monks. It is the only medieval monastery in Britain still inhabited by monks. Our plan is to carry out more visits to other places of interest.
- Visits and Consolation: During times of loss or times of joy for particular members, we encourage one another by visiting, praying, bringing gifts of appreciation, and also by sharing a kind word.
Everyone is invited, irrespective of your background or age. We hope you find our fellowship worthwhile.
